Description

Delight in the nostalgic flavors of s’mores combined with the crunchy goodness of Rice Krispies treats in this easy-to-make dessert. Perfect for gatherings or a sweet snack, these treats blend melted marshmallows, crispy cereals, and melty chocolate into chewy, irresistible bars.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 6 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 (12-ounce) bag jumbo marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cereals and Mix-ins

  • 4 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 2 cups Golden Grahams cereal
  • 2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows (divided)
  • 4 Hershey bars (broken into pieces)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the baking dish: Line a 9×9 inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly butter it to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt the butter and marshmallows: In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the jumbo marshmallows and stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.
  3. Add vanilla and cereals: Remove the saucepan from heat, then stir in the vanilla extract. Immediately mix in the Rice Krispies cereal, Golden Grahams cereal, and 1 1/2 cups of the mini marshmallows, stirring until evenly combined.
  4. Layer the first half: Spread half of the cereal-marshmallow mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the Hershey bars pieces and half of the remaining mini marshmallows evenly over this layer.
  5. Top with remaining mixture and toppings: Add the remaining cereal mixture on top, gently pressing it down without compacting too much. Finish by topping with the remaining Hershey bar pieces and mini marshmallows.
  6. Cool and serve: Let the layered treats cool completely at room temperature, allowing them to set before cutting into squares for serving.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper for easier removal and cleaner edges.
  • Press the mixture lightly to keep the treats airy and chewy rather than dense.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • For extra gooeyness, briefly warm the cut treats in the microwave before serving.
