Ingredients
Scale
Beef
- 1 pound beef (sirloin, flank steak, or chuck steak), trimmed and cut into 1-inch cubes
Marinade
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
Additional
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef: Trim any excess fat from your beef and slice it into bite-sized 1-inch cubes for even cooking.
- Marinate: In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), and 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add the beef cubes and toss to coat thoroughly. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours to infuse the flavors.
- Heat the Pan: Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers, indicating it’s hot enough for cooking.
- Cook the Beef: Add the marinated beef pieces to the skillet in a single layer. Cook each side for 2 to 3 minutes until browned and cooked through but still tender.
- Add Green Onions: When the beef is almost done, stir in the chopped green onions and sauté together for an additional minute to combine flavors.
- Serve: Transfer the beef bites to a serving platter and drizzle any leftover pan sauce over them. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm as an appetizer.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh garlic to maximize flavor.
- Adjust soy sauce and honey quantities to taste for saltiness and sweetness balance.
- Use a heavy skillet like cast iron for even searing.
- Can be served with toothpicks for easy appetizer serving.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
