Description

This Rosemary Garlic Pull Apart Bread is a delightful, crispy, and golden loaf bursting with fresh rosemary and garlic flavors. Perfect for sharing, this bread combines soft, fluffy dough with a buttery, aromatic herb coating, creating an irresistible treat ideal for any meal or gathering.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the Garlic Rosemary Butter:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Activate Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy, indicating the yeast is active.
  2. Mix Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead Dough: Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking.
  6. Prepare Garlic Rosemary Butter: In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, and salt until well combined.
  7. Shape Dough: Punch down the risen dough and divide it into small pieces. Dip each piece into the garlic rosemary butter, ensuring it’s well coated, and arrange the pieces in a greased bundt pan.
  8. Second Rise: Pour any remaining garlic butter over the top of the arranged dough. Let the dough rise again for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake Bread: Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until it is golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  10. Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool slightly before serving to enjoy the pull-apart pieces easily.

Notes

  • Make sure your water is not too hot when activating yeast to avoid killing it; 110°F is ideal.
  • Fresh rosemary provides the best flavor, but dried can be substituted in smaller amounts if necessary.
  • Dipping the dough pieces thoroughly in garlic butter ensures flavorful pulls throughout the bread.
  • Use a greased bundt pan to help the bread bake evenly and facilitate easy removing.
  • This bread is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
