Description

This one-pan creamy garlic butter chicken with egg noodles is a comforting and delicious meal that combines tender seared chicken pieces with savory garlic, creamy Parmesan sauce, and perfectly cooked egg noodles all in one skillet. Ready in just 45 minutes, it’s an easy and flavorful dinner perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Seasoning

  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season and Sear Chicken: Season the bite-sized chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer and sear for 5-7 minutes until golden brown on one side.
  2. Flip and Sauté Garlic: Flip the chicken pieces and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to ensure even cooking. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Add Broth and Noodles: Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a simmer. Gently stir in the egg noodles. Let everything simmer together for 7-10 minutes until the noodles are al dente and have absorbed some of the broth.
  4. Finish with Cream and Cheese: Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese until the cheese is melted and the sauce becomes creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure not to overcook the chicken during searing to keep it tender.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, let it simmer a little longer after adding cream and cheese.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan gives the best flavor compared to pre-grated varieties.
  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or milk, but the sauce will be less rich.
  • This dish pairs well with a simple side salad or steamed vegetables.
