Description

These Jalapeno Popper Crescent Rolls are a deliciously cheesy and spicy appetizer perfect for any gathering. Creamy cream cheese and shredded Pepper Jack cheese are combined with diced jalapenos and wrapped inside buttery crescent roll dough, then baked to golden perfection and brushed with garlic butter for an irresistible flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheese Filling

  • 8 ounces Cabot Pepper Jack Cheese, shredded
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces can diced jalapenos, drained
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Dough

  • 16 ounces crescent roll dough (two 8-ounce cans)

Topping

  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to get it ready for baking the crescent rolls.
  2. Prepare Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded Cabot Pepper Jack cheese, softened cream cheese, drained diced jalapenos, and salt. Stir well until all ingredients are evenly blended into a creamy, spicy filling.
  3. Prepare Dough: Roll out both cans of crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Press down the perforations to seal them so the dough acts as one continuous sheet on each can.
  4. Spread Filling: Evenly spread the jalapeno and cheese mixture over the surface of the rolled-out crescent dough sheets.
  5. Roll Dough: Starting from the short side, carefully roll each sheet of dough tightly over the cheese filling, creating a log shape.
  6. Slice Rolls: Using a serrated knife, slice each rolled log into 8 pieces, approximately 1 inch thick, resulting in a total of 16 rolls.
  7. Arrange Rolls: Place the individual rolls cut-side up into a greased 9-inch by 13-inch baking dish, fitting them snugly but not overcrowded.
  8. Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the garlic powder until combined.
  9. Brush Rolls: Generously brush the garlic butter mixture over the tops of all the rolls to infuse them with flavor and ensure a golden crust.
  10. Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 28 to 30 minutes or until they turn golden brown and bubbly.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to easily mix with the other ingredients.
  • Adjust the amount of jalapenos based on your preferred spice level.
  • You can substitute Pepper Jack cheese with another spicy cheese if desired.
  • Use a serrated knife for clean, even slices when cutting the rolls.
  • Let the rolls cool for a few minutes before serving to avoid burns from hot cheese.
