Description

These Healthy Chocolate Strawberry Yogurt Clusters are a delicious and nutritious frozen treat combining fresh strawberries, creamy Greek yogurt, and rich chocolate. Perfect for a quick, refreshing snack or a guilt-free dessert, they are easy to make with simple ingredients and require no baking.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruit and Yogurt Mix

  • 1 1/2 cups diced strawberries (250g after dicing)
  • 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt or dairy-free Greek yogurt (240g)
  • 2 tbsp honey or pure maple syrup (omit if using sweetened yogurt)

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup chocolate chips (170g)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil (12g) (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the base mixture: Line a baking sheet or large platter with wax or parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced strawberries, vanilla Greek yogurt, and honey or maple syrup until well blended to create a creamy strawberry yogurt mixture.
  3. Form clusters: Using a spoon, drop dollops of the mixture onto the lined baking tray, then gently spread each dollop into a patty-like shape to form clusters.
  4. Freeze the clusters: Place the tray in the freezer for at least three hours or overnight, allowing the yogurt clusters to fully freeze and firm up.
  5. Melt the chocolate: Carefully melt the chocolate chips either in short bursts in the microwave or over a double boiler on the stove. For a smoother and more coating-friendly chocolate, stir in the optional coconut oil while the chocolate is warm.
  6. Coat with chocolate: Remove the frozen yogurt clusters from the freezer and dip each cluster into the melted chocolate to coat evenly. Place the coated clusters back onto the tray.
  7. Set the chocolate: Return the chocolate-covered clusters to the freezer for a few minutes to set the chocolate coating firmly.
  8. Serve and store: Enjoy these clusters cold from the freezer. Store leftovers in a covered container in the freezer, where they will stay fresh for up to three months.

Notes

  • If using sweetened Greek yogurt, you may omit the additional honey or maple syrup for sweetness balance.
  • Coconut oil is optional but recommended to enhance the chocolate coating’s smoothness and ease of dipping.
  • These clusters are best enjoyed frozen and kept stored in the freezer to maintain texture.
  • Can be adapted to be dairy-free by using dairy-free Greek yogurt and ensuring chocolate chips are vegan-friendly.
