Description

Fireball Cherry Bombs are a delightful and festive treat featuring maraschino cherries soaked in Fireball cinnamon whiskey, dipped in smooth white chocolate, and coated with colorful sanding sugar sprinkles. Perfect for parties or a fun dessert, these boozy cherries deliver a sweet, spicy kick with a crunchy sugar shell.

Ingredients

Scale

Cherries and Soaking

  • 10 ounce jar maraschino cherries with stems
  • ¼ cup Fireball cinnamon whiskey

Coating

  • 5 ounces white chocolate melting wafers (from a 10-ounce Ghiradhelli package)
  • ¼ cup colored sanding sugar sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Drain Cherry Juice: Drain off ¼ cup of the juice from the jar of maraschino cherries, saving the lid for later use.
  2. Soak Cherries in Fireball: Replace the drained juice with ¼ cup Fireball cinnamon whiskey. Screw the lid back on tightly and gently shake the jar to distribute the whiskey evenly. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to overnight, allowing the cherries to absorb the whiskey flavor.
  3. Prepare Cherries for Dipping: Line a large plate with a paper towel. Drain the cherries from the liquid and place them stem side up on the towel. Pat each cherry dry to remove excess moisture and ensure the chocolate coating will adhere properly.
  4. Melt White Chocolate: Place the white chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second increments, stirring thoroughly after each interval until fully melted and smooth, following package instructions for best results.
  5. Dip Cherries in Chocolate: Holding each cherry by the stem, dip it into the melted white chocolate until almost fully coated. Gently shake off any excess chocolate back into the bowl to avoid drips.
  6. Coat with Sprinkles: Immediately dip the white chocolate-coated cherry into the bowl of colored sanding sugar. Gently roll the cherry to evenly cover the chocolate with sprinkles. Place the coated cherry on a separate plate lined with parchment paper to set.
  7. Chill to Set: Once all cherries are coated, refrigerate the plate for 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to firm up completely before serving.

Notes

  • For a stronger Fireball flavor, soak cherries overnight.
  • Make sure cherries are well dried before dipping to avoid chocolate slipping off.
  • Use high-quality white chocolate wafers for smooth melting and better taste.
  • Chilling time can be extended if needed to ensure the chocolate is fully hardened.
  • Keep refrigerated until serving for best texture and flavor.
