Description

Fireball Cherry Bombs are a fun and festive cocktail treat featuring maraschino cherries soaked in Fireball cinnamon whiskey, dipped in creamy white chocolate, and coated with colorful sanding sugar sprinkles. This easy-to-make recipe delivers a perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and chocolaty flavors, making it a delightful party appetizer or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Cherries and Soaking Liquid

  • 10 ounce jar maraschino cherries with stems
  • ¼ cup Fireball cinnamon whiskey

Chocolate Coating

  • 5 ounces white chocolate melting wafers (from a 10-ounce Ghirardelli package)

Decorations

  • ¼ cup colored sanding sugar sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Drain and Prepare Cherries: Drain ¼ cup of the juice from the jar of maraschino cherries, reserving the lid. This juice will be replaced with Fireball whiskey to soak the cherries.
  2. Soak Cherries in Fireball: Replace the drained juice with ¼ cup Fireball cinnamon whiskey in the jar. Secure the lid tightly and gently shake the jar to evenly distribute the whiskey. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to overnight for stronger flavor infusion.
  3. Drain and Dry Cherries: Line a large plate with a paper towel, drain the cherries from the jar, and place them stem-side up on the plate. Pat dry the cherries thoroughly to remove excess liquid for better chocolate adherence.
  4. Melt White Chocolate: Place the white chocolate melting wafers in a small microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second increments, stirring well between each, until completely melted and smooth. Follow specific brand instructions if necessary.
  5. Dip Cherries in Chocolate: Hold each cherry by its stem and dip into the melted white chocolate until nearly covered. Gently shake off excess chocolate to avoid drips.
  6. Coat with Sprinkles: Immediately roll the chocolate-coated cherry in the colored sanding sugar until evenly covered. Place the coated cherries on a clean plate lined with parchment paper to set.
  7. Chill to Set: Transfer the plate of coated cherries to the refrigerator for 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to firmly set before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure cherries are well dried after soaking to help the chocolate stick properly.
  • Use good quality white chocolate melting wafers for smooth coating and easy melting.
  • The soaking time can be adjusted depending on how strong you want the cinnamon whiskey flavor.
  • Store dipped cherries in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days for best freshness.
  • Colored sanding sugar adds a festive look but can be substituted with finely chopped nuts or coconut flakes for different textures.
