Description

Fireball Cherry Bombs are a delightful and festive treat featuring maraschino cherries soaked in Fireball cinnamon whiskey, dipped in creamy white chocolate, and coated with colorful sanding sugar sprinkles. Perfect for parties or special occasions, these boozy, sweet bites offer a fun combination of cinnamon spice and rich sweetness.

Ingredients

Scale

Cherries

  • 10 ounce jar maraschino cherries with stems
  • ¼ cup Fireball cinnamon whiskey

Coating

  • 5 ounces white chocolate melting wafers (from a 10-ounce Ghirardelli package)
  • ¼ cup colored sanding sugar sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cherries: Drain off ¼ cup of the juice from the jar of maraschino cherries, saving the lid for later.
  2. Soak the cherries: Replace the drained juice with ¼ cup Fireball cinnamon whiskey. Secure the lid tightly on the jar and gently shake to mix the whiskey evenly with the cherries. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to overnight to allow flavors to meld and intensify.
  3. Drain and dry cherries: Line a large plate with a paper towel. Drain the soaking liquid from the cherries, then place them stem-side up on the prepared plate. Pat the cherries dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture before dipping.
  4. Melt the white chocolate: In a small microwave-safe bowl, heat the white chocolate wafers in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly between each session until completely smooth and melted. Follow the chocolate package instructions for best results.
  5. Dip the cherries: Holding each cherry by its stem, dip into the melted white chocolate until nearly covered. Gently shake off any excess chocolate to avoid dripping.
  6. Coat with sprinkles: Immediately dip the chocolate-coated cherry into the bowl of colored sanding sugar. Roll gently to evenly cover the chocolate with sprinkles. Place the finished cherry onto a parchment-lined plate.
  7. Set the coating: Repeat the dipping and coating process with all cherries, then refrigerate the plate of coated cherries for 30 minutes to allow the white chocolate to firm up before serving.

Notes

  • For stronger Fireball flavor, soak cherries overnight in the whiskey.
  • Ensure cherries are dry before dipping to help the chocolate adhere better.
  • Use a parchment-lined plate to prevent sticking while the chocolate sets.
  • Store leftover cherry bombs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • White chocolate melting wafers melt smoothly and are easier to work with than chopped white chocolate bars.
