Description

These Eyeball Jello Shots are a spooky and fun party treat perfect for Halloween or themed gatherings. Made with strawberry gelatin, vodka, and topped with gummy eyeball candies, they offer a sweet and boozy bite that’s sure to impress your guests.

Ingredients

Scale

Jello Mixture

  • 3 ounce box Strawberry Jell-O gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ½ cup vodka

Toppings

  • 12 gummy eyeball candies

Instructions

  1. Dissolve Gelatin: In a large bowl with a pour spout, add the strawberry gelatin powder and boiling water. Whisk vigorously until the gelatin is fully dissolved and no granules remain.
  2. Add Cold Water and Vodka: Whisk in the cold water and vodka thoroughly to combine the mixture evenly.
  3. Fill Jello Shot Cups: Arrange twelve 2-ounce jello shot cups on a rimmed tray to catch any spills. Carefully pour the gelatin mixture into each cup up to just below the rim, leaving about 1/8 inch of space at the top.
  4. Partially Set Jello: Refrigerate the tray of jello shots for 1 to 1 ½ hours until the gelatin is partially set and firm enough to hold the toppings.
  5. Add Eyeball Gummies: Gently place one gummy eyeball candy on top of each partially set jello shot.
  6. Finish Setting: Return the tray to the refrigerator and chill for an additional 1 ½ hours or up to overnight until the shots are fully firm.
  7. Store: Once fully set, place lids on the jello shot cups and stack them in the refrigerator until ready to serve for convenience and freshness.

Notes

  • For best results, use a tray with a rim to prevent spills when moving the cups to the refrigerator.
  • You can substitute vodka with another type of clear liquor if preferred.
  • Make sure to let the gelatin partially set before adding the gummy eyeballs to avoid sinking.
  • These jello shots can be prepared up to 24 hours in advance and kept refrigerated.
  • Use 2-ounce cups for easy serving and portion control.
