Ingredients
Scale
Yogurt Mixture
- 2 cups plain Greek yogurt (or any yogurt of your choice)
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
Fruit
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
Chocolate Topping
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional for melting chocolate)
Instructions
- Prepare Strawberries: Wash and hull the strawberries thoroughly. Slice them into thin pieces and set aside for layering.
- Mix Yogurt Base: In a mixing bowl, combine the plain Greek yogurt and honey or maple syrup. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and sweetened to your liking.
- Prepare Molds: Line a mini muffin tin or silicone molds with cupcake liners or spray them lightly with cooking spray to prevent sticking of the frozen yogurt bites.
- Fill Base Layer: Spoon a small amount of the yogurt mixture into each mold, filling them about halfway to create a base layer.
- Add Strawberry Layer: Place a slice of strawberry on top of the yogurt in each mold. Press down gently so the strawberry adheres to the yogurt layer.
- Top with Yogurt: Add more yogurt mixture on top of the strawberries until each mold is filled to the top.
- Melt Chocolate: Combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
- Drizzle Chocolate: Using a spoon or a piping bag, drizzle the melted chocolate evenly over the top of each filled mold, adding a delicious chocolate finish.
- Freeze Bites: Place the muffin tin or molds in the freezer and freeze for 2 to 3 hours or until the bites are completely solidified.
- Serve and Store: Once frozen, remove the yogurt bites from the molds carefully. Enjoy immediately as a refreshing treat or store them in an airtight container in the freezer for later consumption.
Notes
- You can substitute plain Greek yogurt with any yogurt of your choice for different flavors and textures.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey or maple syrup according to your taste preference.
- Using silicone molds makes it easier to pop the bites out after freezing without breaking.
- Coconut oil in the chocolate helps achieve a smoother, glossier drizzle but can be omitted if preferred.
- Store leftover bites in an airtight container in the freezer for up to one week to maintain freshness.
