Description

These Cheesy Taco Sticks are a deliciously savory snack or appetizer, combining seasoned ground beef and melted cheese wrapped in soft pizza dough. Perfectly baked to golden brown, they offer a fun twist on traditional tacos with a buttery garlic-parsley finish. Ready in just 25 minutes, they make a crowd-pleasing treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix

For the Dough

  • 1 tube Pillsbury Pizza Dough
  • 5 colby jack and cheddar cheese sticks, halved

For the Butter Topping

  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Cook the beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  3. Season the beef: Drain any excess fat, then add the taco seasoning and follow the instructions on the seasoning packet. Stir to combine and set aside.
  4. Prepare the dough: Roll out the Pillsbury Pizza Dough on a lightly floured surface.
  5. Cut the dough: Cut the dough into 10 equal rectangles.
  6. Add the filling: Spoon a small portion of the seasoned beef onto each rectangle.
  7. Add cheese: Place a halved cheese stick on top of the beef on each dough rectangle.
  8. Roll and seal: Roll the dough around the filling, pinching the edges to seal tightly. Place the taco sticks seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Make the butter mixture: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley.
  10. Brush the sticks: Brush this butter mixture generously over each taco stick.
  11. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and fully cooked through.
  12. Cool and serve: Allow the taco sticks to cool slightly before serving. Pair with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream for dipping!

Notes

  • You can substitute the colby jack and cheddar cheese sticks with your favorite cheese sticks or shredded cheese.
  • Ensure the edges of the dough are sealed well to prevent filling from leaking during baking.
  • For a spicier kick, add some chopped jalapeños or hot sauce to the beef mixture.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or air fryer.
