A creamy and flavorful Boursin Cheese Pasta that comes together in just 20 minutes. This easy-to-make dish combines penne pasta with garlic and herb Boursin cheese and Parmesan for a rich, comforting meal perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
Pasta
- 8 ounces penne or medium pasta
Cheese and Seasonings
- 5.2 ounces Boursin cheese (1 box, garlic and herb flavor)
- 2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese (plus more for garnish)
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: In a large pot, bring water to a boil and cook the penne pasta according to the package directions until al dente. Before draining, reserve 1 cup of the pasta cooking water for later use.
- Drain and return pasta: Drain the pasta thoroughly and add it back into the same pot to prepare for mixing with the cheese.
- Add Boursin cheese: Stir in the Boursin cheese gradually, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time to achieve a creamy, smooth sauce that coats the pasta evenly.
- Finish with Parmesan: Remove the pot from heat and stir in the shredded Parmesan cheese, which adds a nutty depth and enhances the creaminess of the sauce.
- Season: Finally, season the pasta with salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste. Garnish with additional Parmesan cheese if desired before serving.
Notes
- Reserve pasta water helps loosen the cheese sauce and makes it silky smooth.
- Use garlic and herb Boursin for best flavor, but plain or other flavored varieties can be substituted.
- Try adding fresh herbs like parsley or basil for a fresh finish.
- For a protein boost, add cooked chicken, shrimp, or sautรฉed mushrooms.
- This dish is best served immediately for optimal creaminess.
