Description

A refreshing homemade Blueberry Lemonade that combines the natural sweetness of blueberries with the tangy brightness of freshly squeezed lemons. Perfectly sweetened and served chilled, this vibrant drink is ideal for hot summer days or any time you crave a cool, fruity beverage.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 4 cups water, divided
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4โ€“6 large lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (or honey/agave syrup to taste)

Instructions

  1. Blend Blueberries: In a high-powered blender, combine the blueberries with 1 cup of water and blend until the mixture is completely smooth, creating a vibrant puree.
  2. Strain Mixture: Pour the blended blueberry mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher to remove pulp and seeds, ensuring a smooth lemonade consistency.
  3. Add Remaining Ingredients: To the pitcher, add the granulated sugar, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and the remaining 3 cups of water. Stir thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved and the flavors are well combined.
  4. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Serve chilled over ice for a refreshing drink, or enjoy immediately if preferred.

Notes

  • You can substitute granulated sugar with honey or agave syrup for a natural sweetener option.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar or sweetener according to your taste preference.
  • If using frozen blueberries, there is no need to thaw before blending.
  • For a sparkling version, replace some or all of the water with sparkling water just before serving.
  • Store leftover lemonade in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
