Ingredients
Scale
Tea Base
- 1 cup Chamomile Tea (Brewed and cooled)
- 1 tbsp Dried Chamomile Leaves (For visual appeal)
Fruit and Sweetener
- 1 large Banana (Ripe with brown spots)
- 1 tbsp Honey (Raw or organic for richer flavor)
Liquid and Optional
- 1 cup Milk (or Milk Alternative) (Dairy, almond, or oat milk)
- 1 cup Ice Cubes (Optional for a colder texture)
Instructions
- Prepare Chamomile Tea: Start by boiling water in a kettle or saucepan until it reaches a rolling boil. Measure one cup and pour it over either loose chamomile flowers or a chamomile tea bag in a heatproof container. Allow the tea to steep for about 5 minutes, then remove the tea bag or strain out the flowers and let the tea cool to room temperature.
- Prepare Banana: While the chamomile tea cools, peel one ripe banana and slice it into chunks. Place the banana slices on a cutting board and ensure they are ready for blending.
- Combine Ingredients: In a blender, combine the cooled chamomile tea, banana pieces, a tablespoon of honey, and one cup of milk or a milk alternative of your choice. If you prefer a colder smoothie, add a handful of ice cubes.
- Blend Smoothie: Blend the mixture on high speed for about 30 to 45 seconds, or until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency. Pause occasionally to check the texture, scraping down the sides of the blender if needed.
- Serve and Garnish: Once blended to perfection, pour your Banana Chamomile Tea Smoothie into a tall glass. Garnish with a few dried chamomile leaves on top or a slice of banana.
Notes
- Use ripe bananas with brown spots as they provide more natural sweetness.
- Adjust the amount of honey based on your preferred sweetness.
- If using dairy milk, choose low-fat or skim milk for a lighter option.
- For a vegan smoothie, opt for almond or oat milk and use maple syrup instead of honey.
- Adding ice cubes is optional and can be adjusted based on how cold and thick you like your smoothie.
- You can use chamomile tea bags or loose chamomile flowers depending on availability.
