Ingredients
Scale
Crust
- 1½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ½ cup salted butter, melted
Layers
- 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1⅓ cups flaked coconut
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly coat a 9×13-inch baking pan with nonstick spray. Line the pan with parchment paper, allowing the paper to hang over the edges to facilitate easy removal and clean, even squares.
- Make the Crust: In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs with the melted salted butter. Press this mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
- Add Sweetened Condensed Milk: Evenly drizzle the entire can of sweetened condensed milk over the graham cracker crust, making sure to cover all areas.
- Layer the Toppings: Layer the butterscotch chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips, flaked coconut, and chopped pecans over the condensed milk in the order listed. Spread each ingredient evenly and gently press down with a fork to compact the layers slightly.
- Bake the Bars: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until the top is lightly golden and bubbly.
- Cool and Serve: Immediately after baking, loosen the edges from the pan using the parchment overhang. Let the bars cool completely on a wire rack to set. Once cooled, cut into 24 squares with a sharp knife and serve.
Notes
- To prevent sticking, ensure you use parchment paper that exceeds the edges of the pan to easily lift the bars out.
- Pressing the layers gently helps the bars hold together when baked.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
- You can substitute walnuts or almonds for pecans if preferred.
- For a more chewy texture, slightly reduce the baking time by 2-3 minutes.
