Description

These easy 2 Ingredient Bread Rolls are perfect for a quick homemade bread fix without yeast or kneading. Made from just self-raising flour and yogurt, they come together quickly and bake into soft, golden mini loaves. Perfect served warm or cold as a snack or alongside your favorite meals.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 cup self-raising flour (or 1 cup plain flour + 2 tsp baking powder)
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • Egg wash (optional, for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 180ºC (350ºF) to prepare it for baking the rolls.
  2. Mix dough: In a bowl, combine the self-raising flour and yogurt until a dough forms. It will be slightly sticky but manageable.
  3. Shape dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently bring it together without overworking it.
  4. Form rolls: Cut the dough into even-sized pieces and roll each piece into a small mini loaf shape.
  5. Apply egg wash: If desired, brush the tops of the dough pieces with a little egg wash to help achieve a golden crust.
  6. Bake: Place the rolls on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until they are risen and golden brown.
  7. Serve: Allow to cool slightly and serve your bread rolls warm or cold as preferred.

Notes

  • You can substitute plain flour with baking powder (2 tsp) to make self-raising flour if not available.
  • Egg wash is optional but gives a nice golden, shiny crust.
  • Do not over-knead the dough to keep the rolls soft and tender.
  • These rolls are best eaten fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for 1-2 days.
